Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi told British Foreign Secretary David Cameron that atrocities in Gaza must stop during a recent meeting in London, antaranews.com reported.
Minister Retno and the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Nigeria and Turkey, all members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as the secretary general of the Arab League, met with Cameron on Wednesday in an effort to rally support for resolving the crisis in Gaza
"I said that what is happening in Gaza has crossed the line and is totally unacceptable from any perspective and from any value or standard," she said in an online press briefing on Thursday (23/11/2023).
She called for a permanent ceasefire and an end to attacks on humanitarian facilities and civilians.
Minister Retno said that what has been happening in Gaza is a continuation of injustice against the Palestinian people, a continuation of Israel's illegal occupation, and a continuation of Israel's desire to eliminate Palestine.
Therefore, Indonesia urges the UN Security Council, of which the UK is a permanent member with veto power, to show moral responsibility in fighting for justice and humanity.
