Ministry of Religion Published New Regulation for Children Care in Islamic Boarding School

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Islamic Education of Religion Ministry published a Decree (SK) Number 1262 of 2024 about the child care regulation in Islamic Boarding School. The decree was arranged together with the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, academics, child practitioner, and Islamic boarding school management. The Acting Director of Diniyah and Islamic Boarding School Education, Waryono, explains that the decree will serve as technical guidance for school management in taking care of their students at the boarding school. The decree regulates about the child-friendly care in boarding school, procedures on child care in boarding school, procedures on protection for children in care, supporting resources, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. “This new regulation is for the caregivers, Islamic boarding school managers, teachers and supervisors, as well as regional offices and the Regency/City Ministry of Religion. We hope that through this new regulation, government can continue to collaborate with stakeholders and realize safe and comfortable Islamic boarding school,” explained Waryono quoted from RRI on Tuesday (3/12/2024). He later emphasized that if the school did not comply with the regulation, the boarding school recognition, affirmation, and facilitation will be reviewed by the ministry. The ministry pushed for the collaboration on this regulation as they implore the school to prioritize the best interest of the Islamic Boarding School students across Indonesia.
