inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Ministry of Communication and Digital ensures that the quality of national telecommunications services remains stable throughout the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holiday season, despite a surge in traffic due to high national mobility.
"From December 19, 2025, to January 4, we report, and hopefully the public has also felt this, that the quality of services is well maintained, stable, and secure, ensuring national connectivity is maintained," said the Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Viada Hafid, after the closing of the Joint Telecommunications Service Quality Monitoring Post, Monday (1/5/2026).
She stated that the quality of telecommunications services during this period was well maintained, as measured in 104 regencies/cities in 35 provinces, with average speeds reaching 80.58 Mbps for downloads and 35.36 Mbps for uploads.
Meutya further stated that, for cellular operators, Telkomsel achieved an average peak speed of 96.15 Mbps, Indosat 80.79 Mbps, and XL Smart 63.01 Mbps.
These figures indicate that the network remains capable of handling increased traffic during the holiday peak.
This service supports public needs for communication, accessing information, and conducting digital transactions while traveling. The monitoring post was operated from December 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology is also prioritizing network restoration in disaster-affected areas, particularly in Aceh. This step is crucial to ensure the public can stay connected with their families and access emergency information.
Currently, the restoration of operator connectivity infrastructure in Aceh has exceeded 95 percent. Of the total 3,208 base transceiver stations (BTS), only seven are still under repair.
Meutya stated that the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology, along with operators, will continue to maintain network quality and prepare for the surge in traffic during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"This will serve as evaluation material to ensure better preparedness for future public services, including during the Eid al-Fitr holiday," she concluded.
