inp.polri.go.id – The new Chief of Staff of the Australian Navy, Vice Admiral Mark Hammond, visited Indonesia from Sunday (24/7) to Tuesday (26/7).
Hammond then revealed a number of main agendas during his visit to Indonesia. During his visit to Indonesia, Hammond will meet with the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Yudo Margono.
"[Both will] discuss relationship initiatives and identify opportunities for future collaboration," the Australian Embassy in Jakarta said in a release on Monday (25/7).
The Australian Embassy in Jakarta also said that Hammond and Yudo would meet today, Monday (25/7). Not only will he meet Yudo, Hammond will also talk to students at the Naval Command and Staff College in Jakarta.
"I am happy to meet with Admiral Yudo and had a chance to speak at the Naval Command and Staff School. Our relationship is a lasting and harmonious relationship," Hammond said in the same press release.
This visit is Hammond's first official visit abroad after being sworn in. "Visiting Indonesia as soon as possible is my priority," said Hammond.
"This is my first overseas relationship as Chief of Staff of the Australian Navy, and Indonesia is one of our closest friends and most important strategic partners," he said.
