"With this addition, the number of direct flights to mainland China has increased to an average of seven daily flights to four major cities: Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xiamen, and Guangzhou," said Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, the General Manager of Ngurah Rai Airport, on Wednesday (16/4/2025).
The inaugural flight from Bali to Guangzhou, flight 8B969, took off on 13 April 2025, carrying 74 passengers. The return flight from Guangzhou to Denpasar landed on 14 April 2025 with 169 passengers onboard, greeted by a traditional water salute.
The new service offers direct flights four times a week, using an A320 aircraft with 174 seats, and is expected to boost tourism in Bali. Chinese tourists are the second-largest group visiting Bali, with 136,000 arrivals in March 2025.
