Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has resumed normal flight operations after a three-hour runway closure caused by an issue involving an Airfast aircraft on Saturday (8/3/2025).
The incident occurred at 10.15 am local time, when an Airfast DH PK-OAM 6 from Benete, West Sumbawa, encountered technical difficulties, rendering the runway unusable.
General Manager Ahmad Syaugi Shahab said that the aircraft was safely removed using lifting bags and salvage equipment, following standard procedures.
"Runway inspections were completed to ensure no debris remained, and operations resumed at 1 pm," he confirmed, as quoted by antaranews.com.
During the closure, 10 departing and 21 arriving flights were delayed. Singapore Airlines flight SQ938 from Singapore was the first to land at 1.10 pm, followed by Aero India to Delhi, which departed at 1.23 pm.
Passengers were advised to check with airlines or contact 172 for updated flight schedules.
