Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional  Police have arrested four high school students suspected of carrying out an acid attack on a fellow student in Sungai Bambu, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Friday.

“The suspects were secured by the Tanjung Priok Police and are still undergoing investigation,” said North Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Erick Frendriz on Sunday (3/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The main perpetrator is reportedly a vocational school student from Koja, while the 17-year-old victim, identified as AP, is a student from another school in Tanjung Priok. According to the police, the suspects had been riding around in a group of ten, looking for a fight.

“They couldn’t find a rival, but when they saw the victim riding with two friends, one of them approached, fell, and immediately threw acid,” Chief Erick said.

The victim sustained serious injuries to his face and body and is being treated at RSCM Hospital. The suspects, all underage, are being questioned under the supervision of the Juvenile Correctional Center.
