Inp.polri.go.id – North Maluku. The North Maluku Regional Police implores people to stay vigilant and beware with theft and fire as Eid Homecoming season looms.
The Head of North Maluku Regional Police Public Relations Division, Superintendent Bambang Suharyono stressed there is often an increase of theft and robbery cases during the homecoming season at empty houses left by people during travel.
Bambang implores people to be more aware of their surroundings and to leave their house safely to their trusted people. Bambang stressed that this is not a new type of crime as thieves usually have already scouted their target around this time.
“The security of the house left by its owners is important to be secured during the Eid Homecoming season so that they could celebrate the happy day with families back in their hometown,” said Bambang.
Other than theft, other dangerous potentials are fire. Thus, police also implored the public to ensure the electricity installation at the house is neutral and all electronic equipment is off before departing.
In his closing statement, Bambang asked those who are not traveling to cooperate and work together with the security officials in maintaining the situation during the homecoming season.
