North Sumatra Regional Police Exterminates Drugs Evidence Gathered from 19 Cases

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The North Sumatra Regional Police have exterminated 57.77 kilogram of methamphetamine, 10 kilogram of marijuana, and 20,600 ecstasy pills. The drugs compiled by the police were gathered from drugs case dicslosures from November 24th, 2023 to January 15th, 2024. “Suspects arrested are 32 people who are linked to drug syndicate during the 19 drug cases uncovering within 53 days. These drugs extermination demonstrates our commitment in eradicating drug flow in the province,” says the North Sumatra Regional Police Drugs Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Yemi Mendagi in Medan on Wednesday (1/17/2024). While destroying the drugs, Yemi told that those drugs were gathered from their raid on Malaysian sea border ring and in Asahan Regency. “Some suspects even moved their drugs by smuggling their couriers to a bus from Aceh to Medan. The courier hid the drugs in their belt which has been modified to be able to contain items. Then the drugs were moved to Kualanamu International Airport to Jakarta and Bandung,” explains Yemi. Yemi continues that the drug evidence extermination has roughly saved around 291,700 people. In his closing statement, Yemi says that his party is committed to completely eradicate the drug flow until the North Sumatra is free from the illicit items. (ad/bg/pr/nm)
