inp.polri.go.id - East Nusa Tenggara. The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police received additional unit in disaster management efforts. Two bloodhounds with Search and Rescue (SAR) specifications were officially handed over by the Indonesian National Police (INP) for the NTT Regional Police K9 unit on Monday (9/29/2025).

The handing over ceremony began with a short simulation of searching for landslide victims by the two new bloodhounds—Karel and Felicia—where they demonstrated their skills in detecting the victims under the rubble.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTT Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Henry Novika, said that the gift of the two new bloodhounds greatly strengthened Search and Rescue capabilities in NTT.

"Karel and Felicia will strengthen our preparedness in facing potential disasters. With SAR capabilities, they will greatly assist in the search and rescue of victims quickly," said Henry Novika.

With the addition of these two K9 SAR units, the NTT Regional Police are optimistic that they can be more swift, precise, and responsive in every rescue effort for disaster victims in the region.
