Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono issued a stern warning to hospitals on Friday (6/2/2026), saying that no facility is allowed to reject dialysis patients whose status at the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) status has become inactive.
The issue arose following a data adjustment by the Ministry of Social Affairs, which inadvertently deactivated several participants in the Contribution Assistance Recipient (PBI) category.
Deputy Ministry Dante reiterated that life-sustaining treatments like hemodialysis must continue while administrative status is being restored, as reported by antaranews.com
"It is not allowed; they must not reject patients," he at RSJPD Harapan Kita Hospital. "If they need dialysis, the BPJS can be reactivated, and we absolutely will not reject them for treatment."
To resolve the issue, the Ministry of Social Affairs is working with the Ministry of Health and BPJS Kesehatan to fast-track the reactivation of these accounts.
Deputy Social Affairs Minister Agus Jabo Priyono confirmed that dialysis patients are the priority for this data correction. Patients with inactive status are advised to visit their local Social Services office or their healthcare facility to initiate the reactivation process, ensuring their access to the National Health Insurance scheme is restored without interrupting their medical schedule.
