Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri assures that the Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) guarantees the security of the province from the threats of Armed Criminal Group (KKB). “We guarantee the security and safety of Papuans from the threat of KKB,” quote Mathius from his written statement on Tuesday (2/20/2024). According to Mathius, police continue to held joint patrol to ensure regional security and order while making sure that the election ballots are safe. On the other hand, the police chief also implores public to not easily provoked by hoax from unreliable resources which could disturb public security and order. “Regarding the result of 2024 General Election, people are expected to wait for the official recapitulation from Papua General Election Commission,” explained Mathius. Meanwhile, addressing the shooting on civil aircraft, Head of Damai Cartenz Operations Public Relations, Superintendent Bayu Suseno says that his party continue to search and pursue the shooter. “We have coordinated with security officials, TNI-INP involved in Damai Cartenz Ops, to enhance their security operation level by adding more perimeters around the airport in nine operational regions,” said Bayu.
