inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. In order to commemorate the 79th Bhayangkara Day, Papua Regional Police held a joint sports activity during Car Free Day in front of the Rowing Venue, Jayapura City. Saturday (06/21/2025).
Head of the Organizing Committee, Director of Security Intelligence of Papua Regional Police Senior Superintendent Wawan Setyawan said that this activity was an activity to improve the relationship between the police and the community in commemorating the 79th police institution anniversary.
"We want this year's anniversary to be more felt by the community. Therefore, in addition to holding public entertainment, we also open public services such as Mobile Driving License service, Criminal Record issuance, and free health checks," said Wawan Setyawan.
Although the weather that morning was cloudy, the enthusiasm and participation of the community remained high. Thousands of people were seen crowding the location since morning to take part in a fun walk, group exercise, and cultural performances such as the Yospan dance. The activity was closed with entertainment from local Papuan artists who enliven the celebration.
"We hope that through this activity, we can get closer to the community, build trust and strengthen cooperation in maintaining a safe and conducive public order situation in Jayapura City," wished Wawan in his closing statement.
