Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that floodwaters submerged 80 neighborhood units, known locally as rukun tetangga or RT, and 23 major roads across West, East, and South Jakarta as of Thursday evening (22/1/2026).
Persistent rainfall since the morning, coupled with upstream runoff from neighboring regions, caused water levels to surge, reaching over one meter in parts of Kebon Jeruk.
"The flooding is a result of extreme precipitation and the overflowing of key rivers, including the Krukut, Mampang, and Ciliwung," said Mohamad Yohan, the Head of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Data and Information Center, as cited by antaranews.com.
To mitigate the impact, the BPBD has deployed personnel to coordinate with the Water Resources (SDA) and Fire and Rescue departments.
They Were utilizing mobile pumps to drain inundated roads where water levels range from 10 to 50 centimeters. Authorities remain on high alert as the rainy season peaks, urging residents near riverbanks to anticipate further rises in water levels and follow evacuation protocols if necessary.
