inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police confirmed a traffic accident involving seven vehicles on the Jakarta Outer Ring Toll Road (JORR) at KM 30+800 B. The incident caused a stir among netizens after a video of it circulated widely on social media, including one uploaded by the Instagram account @jakarta.terkini.

The Head of the Sub-Directorate for Guidance and Law Enforcement of the Jakarta Regional Metro Police Traffic Directorate, Superintendent Ojo Ruslani, explained that the accident began when a truck experienced brake failure while traveling on the toll road.

"The seven vehicles were coming from the east heading west, traffic was smooth, and the weather was cloudy. When they arrived at KM 30+800 B, lane 2, the truck experienced brake failure, crashing into the sixth vehicle," he explained on Tuesday (3/10/2026).

He explained that the heavy impact triggered the pile-up. The vehicle that was hit first lost control and hit another vehicle in front of it.

"Car number six then lost control after got hit by the truck and hit another three vehicles in the front. As the truck lost control, it moved into lane 1 and hit another two cars," he explained.

Two people reportedly suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident and were immediately rushed to Pasar Rebo Hospital for medical treatment.

The Honda BR-V and Daihatsu Gran Max suffered the most severe damage, which were crushed by the heavy impact. 

Based on initial analysis by officers at the scene, the accident was triggered by brake failure on the truck, causing the driver to be unable to control the vehicle and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

"The truck driver was unable to maintain a safe distance due to brake failure," he said.

Highway Patrol officers, along with toll road operators, immediately arrived at the scene to handle the accident and secure the traffic lane to prevent further congestion. All victims have been evacuated from the scene.
