Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. PT PLN (Persero) announced on Tuesday (3/6/2025) that it is ready to build a 47,758-kilometer circuit Green Super Grid, as outlined in the 2025–2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan.
The grid will interconnect islands and enable new and renewable energy transmission from remote regions to urban centers.
“There is no energy transition without transmission. This Super Grid enables clean energy and supports national energy independence,” said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that the Super Grid includes 13.9k kms in Java-Bali, 11.2k kms in Sumatra, 9.8k kms in Kalimantan, 9k kms in Sulawesi, and 3.9k kms in Eastern Indonesia.
Four inter-island links—Java-Bali, Sumatra-Batam-Bintan, Sumatra-Java, and Kalimantan-Tarakan—are also planned.
The project includes building substations with a total capacity of 107,950 MVA, requiring a Rp 565.3 trillion investment over 10 years. The system will include high-voltage AC and DC networks to strengthen national electricity infrastructure.
