inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that his party is working with Bulog to build 18 warehouses in 12 provinces to accommodate the massive corn harvest.
"Along with the potential for increasing harvest volume INP will build 18 storage warehouses on land owned by us in 12 provinces with a total storage capacity of 18,000 tons," said INP Chief in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, as reported from a statement confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday (6/5/2025).
General Sigit said that the construction of the warehouses is targeted for completion in August 2025.
"Today, the groundbreaking will be carried out simultaneously. So, construction will take approximately 2-3 months," he added.
In addition, in order to answer the challenge of a production surplus estimated to reach up to 6 million tons, INP is working with Bulog to absorb the corn harvest at a government purchase price of IDR 5,500 per kilogram.
Not only with Bulog, INP also collaborates with animal feed companies, such as PT Japfa and PT Charoen Pokphand, to manage corn harvests through 47 feedmills in 17 provinces throughout Indonesia.
Furthermore, General Sigit said that INP also collaborated with all stakeholders related to the formation of the Teguh Sejahtera Producer Cooperative.
The cooperative has succeeded in establishing export cooperation with agricultural processing companies in Malaysia.
"The agreed export cooperation is to fulfill 20,000 tons of corn in stages and today the first export of 1,200 tons will be released at a price of IDR 5,900 per kilogram," he said.
The four-star police general hopes that this collaboration can continue to be developed in all corn-producing regions in Indonesia.
"We realize that realizing national food sovereignty is a big journey full of challenges. However, we hope that this noble ideal can be achieved through synergy from all components of the nation," he concluded.
