inp.polri.go.id - Central Kalimantan. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police continues to strengthen its role in supporting the food self-sufficiency program. This effort is carried out through collaboration with local governments, the Indonesian Military (TNI), farmer groups, the business sector, and various other stakeholders.

Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan, emphasized that food self-sufficiency is a strategic program that requires the support of all elements.

"Food self-sufficiency is a national priority program that must be supported collectively. Therefore, we continue to strengthen collaboration with local governments, the TNI, farmer groups, the business sector, and all stakeholders to achieve food security in Central Kalimantan," he said.

According to him, cross-sector synergy is key to ensuring the sustainability of the food security program and providing tangible benefits to the community, especially farmers.

From 2025 to 2026, the Central Kalimantan Regional Police recorded corn harvests on 16,066 hectares of land, with a total production of 72,478 tons. This achievement involved 242 farmer groups assisted by the Indonesian National Police (INP) with 2,687 members.

"This achievement is not just a figure, but proof that the collaboration between the police, the government, and the community can make a real contribution to strengthening national food security," he said.

In addition to improving production, the Central Kalimantan Regional Police are also promoting various innovations in the agricultural sector. These include intercropping corn on a 400-hectare oil palm plantation, developing corn-based animal feed, utilizing corn waste as animal feed, developing corn-based MSME products, producing fermentation-based pesticides, and developing Gawi Barinjam compost in Sukamara Regency.
