inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police immediately deployed their personnel to evacuate flood victims on Rawa Teratai Street, Kampung Sawah, Rawa Teratai Village, Cakung District.
Heavy rains that lashed the Jakarta area on Sunday, January 18, 2026, caused flooding and inundated people’s homes, disrupting activities and complicating road access in the surrounding area.
Police personnel assisted residents in evacuating themselves and securing important documents and valuables from the flooded homes. The evacuation was carried out in coordination with the local sub-district and relevant agencies.
The rescue team paid special attention to children, the elderly, and residents with special needs to ensure the safe evacuation process. In addition, the security team also prepared emergency logistical assistance, including food supplies and basic necessities for affected residents.

People’s safety is our top priority, and every operation is carried out quickly, precisely, and safely," explained the Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto, Sunday (1/17/2026).
He also urged the public to remain vigilant for potential flash floods and to follow the instructions of officers in the field. The success of this operation demonstrates the importance of coordination between security forces, local government, and residents in responding to disasters.
"This effort aims to ensure that the community's basic needs are met during the evacuation process," he said.
