inp.polri.go.id - Jombang. The Jombang Sub-regional Police, in conjunction with the Jombang-Mojokerto Toll Road Management, are handling a traffic accident on the Jombang-Mojokerto toll road, specifically at kilometer 686+000 A, which resulted in three deaths.
The Head of the Law Enforcement Unit of the Jombang Sub-regional Police Traffic Unit, Second Police Inspector Siswanto, stated that the accident involved a Wuling car with license plate number AG 1175 FX, which collided with a Fuso truck with license plate number K 9778 SP.
"There was a traffic accident between a passenger car and a truck at kilometer 686+000 A of the toll road. There were three victims, all of whom died," he said, as reported by Antaranews on Tuesday (8/19/2025).
He revealed the incident on Tuesday morning. Initially, the truck, driven by Bali Arjo (58), a resident of Kedung Lengkong Village, Simo District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java, was traveling from Solo to Surabaya in lane one.
The flour-laden truck was then hit by a Wuling car driven by Wahat (46), a resident of Tebing Tinggi District, Empat Lawang Regency, Salatiga City, Central Java.
After the collision, both vehicles stopped at KM 686 A L.OS (Level of Service), facing east. However, due to the force of the collision, the front of the Wuling car became embedded in the rear of the truck.
Police stated that three people, all passengers in the car, died. They were Noviadi (49), a resident of Burangkeng Village, Setu District, Bekasi Regency. He died from head injuries.
The next victim was Heri Kristiawan (40), a resident of Jebres District, Surakarta, Central Java. He died from head injuries. The third victim to die was Wahat (46), the driver of the car. He also suffered head injuries and died.
The truck driver and conductor, Bali Arjo and Angga Prayoga (16), residents of Simo District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java, are safe.
"The police are still investigating the cause of the accident, so they cannot yet confirm the cause. We are still investigating the cause. We are also still investigating the speed of the vehicle, so we cannot yet determine the cause," he said.
Meanwhile, truck driver Bali Arjo said the vehicle he was driving was hit from behind by the car driver. Police suspect the driver fell asleep, which led to the accident. He also stated that the truck driver was in the correct driving position.
The body has been taken to the hospital. The victim's family has been contacted regarding the accident.
"The police, along with officers from the Jombang-Mojokerto Toll Road, evacuated the victims and took them to the hospital for further treatment," he explained.
