inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) is sending 202 workers to South Korea and Germany through a government-to-government (G-to-G) scheme.
KP2MI stated that 191 workers will be placed in the manufacturing, fisheries, and service sectors in South Korea, and 11 will work as nurses in Germany.
According to Ahnas, Director General of KP2MI Placement, the 202 workers have participated in a Pre-Departure Orientation (OPP), which includes basic competency training and language proficiency in the destination country.
"Generally, preparation takes up to two years because we want to ensure that the workers we send have adequate technical and language competencies," said Ahnas on Tuesday (August 19, 2025).
Ahnas also reminded the workers to maintain Indonesia's good name abroad.
"Indonesian migrant workers have cultural characteristics that they maintain and bring with them to other countries [...] Demonstrate our dedication, demonstrate our characteristics, that we have a good culture," he explained.
He encouraged workers to take advantage of the opportunity to study and develop themselves abroad.
Finally, he also urged workers to learn to use technology in their host countries and apply it upon their return home.
