Inp.polri.go.id - South Tangerang. The East Ciputat Police Office launched an investigation into a fire that broke out across a pile of dry waste, wood, and building debris in South Tangerang on Friday (4/9/2026).

The incident occurred opposite the Pisangan Village Head Office on Tarumanegara Street, producing thick smoke that disrupted local residents and traffic. South Tangerang Fire and Rescue Service officers deployed multiple fire engines to contain the blaze.

"The site contained building debris, wood, and dry waste," East Ciputat Police Chief Senior Inspector Bambang Askar Sodiq said at the scene. "We are currently investigating the cause of this fire."

Officials noted hot weather conditions and human activities, such as improperly discarded cigarette butts or intentional trash burning, as potential contributing factors. Police continue gathering information to determine the exact cause of the ignition.
