Sumedang Resort Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Eko Prasetyo Robbyanto through Sumedang Deputy Police Chief, Pol. Commissioner Asep Agustoni said that until now, the implementation of disaster management is still weak.
For this reason, along with the many potential disaster-prone areas, all parties are expected to identify, analyze, and take disaster prevention and mitigation measures to reduce the level of risk from the disaster.
"With the increasing intensity of disasters and their diversity, disaster management efforts need to be handled in a comprehensive, multi-sectoral, integrated and coordinated manner between the government and other stakeholders," he explained.
Especially with the stipulation of Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2010 concerning
The National Medium-Term Development Plan 2010-2014 states that disaster management is part of the national development priorities, namely priority number 9 with the core substance of the environment and disaster management.
Specifically, regarding disaster management, it is more directed at increasing the capacity of disaster management and, namely, strengthening the capacity of government officials and the community to mitigate risks and handle disasters and the dangers of forest fires.
Formation of a rapid movement team (particular unit for disaster management) with the support of adequate equipment and transportation means in disaster-prone locations in the Sumedang Regency area.
"Learning from the experience of dealing with various disaster events in Sumedang Regency, in the context of implementing disaster management, it must be carried out in a planned and integrated manner. So that disaster management can be carried out in an integrated and comprehensive manner," he explained.
As we all know, Sumedang Regency, which has a mountainous geographical condition, has a very high potential for natural disasters, powerful winds, heavy rains, floods, landslides and hurricanes.
"For this reason, the momentum for this preparedness meeting aims to check the readiness of all personnel and the completeness of supporting facilities and infrastructure. In addition, there must be an integration of cross-sectoral elements and the community who take an active role in the context of preparedness for natural disaster management," he concluded.
