inp.polri.go.id - West Papua. West Papua Regional Police investigators are investigating allegations of rape against two people in Kaimana. The rape is suspected to have been committed by MEP (29) against M (13) and C (14).

"We are still investigating this case. We are also still gathering the information from witnesses. We have received an information about the allegation of rape by police members, also an allegation of taking them as hostage But the hostage report has been refuted because according to the victims, they were not taken as hostage," said the Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ongky Isgunawan on Monday (2/24/2025).

He explained that in this case, investigators are currently collecting a number of CCTV cameras and also to investigate the alleged perpetrator.

The alleged perpetrator, he said, was outside of town as he was visiting his family.

"However, we have asked for help from the Professional and Security Division of Seram Island Sub-regional Police to pick him up. So now, we are just waiting for his arrival in here," explained Ongky..
