inp.polri.go.id – The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Central Java Police (Polda Jateng), along with the Banyumas Police have succeeded in uncovering the crime of distributing packaged cooking oil without a distribution permit. Central Java Police Chief (Kapolda Jateng) Inspector General Drs. Ahmad Luthfi, S.H., S.St., M.K., revealed that they have seized 12 tons of evidence from six different places. "This is in line with the policy of the National Police Chief to oversee government policies in preventing the misuse of cooking oil in the community," explained Kapolda Jateng. The disclosure of this case began on May 18, 2022 when police officers received information from the public regarding allegations of hoarding cooking oil in the Cilongok area, Banyumas Regency. However, when an investigation was carried out by the officers, it was found that there were other violations done by them, which is brand and information counterfeiting contained in the packaging. In a warehouse in Cikidang Village, Cilongok District, officers found thousands of bottles of "Lapama" cooking oil. Based on their investigation, the brand does not have a distribution permit and does not include correct information on the packaging regarding its products. The way suspects violates the law was by buying the raw materials of cooking oil, RBD CP 10 palm oil, from PT. Prima Sukses Sejahtera Abadi as an oil distributor in the Malang Regency area. Every month the suspect buys 7-8 tons of non-subsidized oil for Rp20,800 per kilo. The oil then was sent to the suspect's warehouse in CV. Alam Timur Jaya and CV. Mondoroko Earth. The cooking oil then repackaged with the Lalama brand and sold to the public at a price per box of Rp235,000.00 or per bottle for Rp19,500. "A total of 18,288 bottles of Lapama cooking oil bottles have been secured. The total is more than 14 thousand liters, or 12 tons, of cooking oil without a distribution permit that have we secured," explained Kapolda Jateng.
