PPA Barelang Police Secured Two Human Traffickers in Sei Binti Village

inp.polri.go.id – The Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Criminal Investigation Unit (satreskrim) of the Barelang Police raided the shelter of illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Sei Binti Village, Sagulung District. Two illegal PMI distributors were arrested. The two suspects are HN (47), a woman born in Bantul, a resident of Kampung Baru RT 04 RW 03 Sungai Binti Village, Sagulung. The other one is DR alias A Binti S (52), a woman from Bandung who is a resident of Kampung Harapan RT 02 RW 09 Tanjunguncang Village, Subdistrict Batuaji. "We have secured the two perpetrators and they are currently still being investigated," said the Chief of Barelang Police Satreskim, Commissioner Abdul Rahman, Thursday (2/6/2022). The Chief of Satreskim Barelang Police stated that on Sunday (29/5/2022) at approximately 13.00 WIB, the police received a report from the public that several people were being accommodated in Kampung Baru Number 323 RT 02 RW 13, Sei Binti Village, Sagulung District. Allegedly, they are PMI candidates who will be dispatched to Singapore and Malaysia. "Based on the info from the public, the place is used as a PMI shelter and it is suspected that they will be illegally dispatched to Singapore and Malaysia," said the Chief of Satreskrim Polres Barelang. At around 15.00 WIB, the police came to that place and they found two women who own the place dan another two women who are the Illegal Migrant Workers that has stayed there for days. "They are going to be sent to Singapore and Malaysia to be employed as household assistants," he said. For further investigation, the perpetrator and the victim were brought to the Barelang Police Station. "Currently, both the perpetrators and victims are being investigated and they are charged with Article 81 of the RI Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years," concluded the Chief of Satreskim Barelang Police.
