inp.polri.go.id - West Sumatra. The police managed to seize a truck suspected of smuggling drugs on the Padang-Simpang Empat crossroad, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra.

"It is true, we can confirm that we have held drug raids with the joint team of Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency,” says Head of West Pesaman Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Agung Tribawanto on Sunday (2/16/2025).

In his statement, he said that the police intel heard about the information of a truck transporting a 500 kg marijuana from Aceh via Sumatran road. 

Upon hearing the information, police gave chase to the truck to Tigo Nagari District, Pasaman Regency.

“The report says that he was resting in Tigo Nagari District before fleeing to West Pasaman, until we managed to arrest him in Kinali,” says Agung.

However, Agung still cannot reveal who the drug suspects nor the specific drug that the police had seized in the operation.

A witness from Kinali, Ade, says that the vehicle was coming from Simpang Empat to Padang, and there was a chase which made the car turn around.
