inp.polri.go.id - Papua. Drug smuggling attempt was successfully stopped by the police at the border city area in Yowong Village, as the two drug couriers were arrested by the police in the early morning of Friday (3/7/2025).
In this arrest, the suspects were apprehended by the patrol unit of Keerom Sub-regional Police, led by Second Police Assistant Inspector Yan Hendrik Mnsen.
When confirmed, First Police Inspector Samuel Yunus, representing the Keerom Sub-regional Police Chief, says that the two suspects were allegedly smuggling marijuana.
“Our patrol unit has arrested IFI (22) and TRS (22) along with the evidence of seven packages of marijuana, ready to be sold. Other than the drugs, we are also confiscating their motorbike as evidence,” says Yunus.
He adds that the patrol unit found the drug during their search on the suspects where they hid the drugs in their pockets.
