inp.polri.go.id - Nagekeo. The landslide and flash flood disaster that hit Mauponggo District, Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), last weekend has attracted the attention and rapid response of various parties, including the NTT Regional Police. The joint team continues to search for three victims who are still reported missing.
The NTT Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, said that his team has deployed dozens of additional personnel to speed up the search and evacuation process.
"We have sent assigned members from the Regional Police HQ, in addition to the Nagekeo and Ende Sub-regional Police personnel. We are also sending more members from other police units and are currently on their way to the location," said Inspector General Rudi Darmoko on Tuesday (9/16/2025).
Rudi explained that one of the main strategies that will be used to find victims is to deploy the bloodhounds. This step was taken considering the difficult terrain and the vast area affected.
"We will deploy the bloodhounds as there are still three victims who have not been found. We hope that the search dogs will arrive here by tomorrow, and we will make every effort in our search so that the victims can be found quickly," concluded Rudi Darmoko.
This joint operation involves various elements, including National Search and Rescue Agency, the Indonesian National Military (TNI), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and local community volunteers, with a primary focus on areas suspected to be the last known locations of the victims. The rescue team hopes that the presence of the search dogs can shed light on this search.
