inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police are investigating a report of alleged fraud resulting in losses due to crypto trading. The case implicates the founder of the Crypto Academy, Timothy Ronald.
The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, stated that the first item on the agenda is the questioning of the reporter and witnesses, scheduled for Tuesday (1/13/2026).
"Investigators have attempted to summon the reporter, specifically the reporter, as well as the witnesses, for clarification, and this will be scheduled for Tuesday," Senior Commissioner Budi explained to reporters on Monday (1/12/2026).
Budi confirmed that the case is still being investigated by the reported party for alleged crypto trading fraud reported on Friday (1/9/2026). However, he could not yet reveal the details of the case.
"The reporter, identified as Y, is accused of alleged fraud related to crypto investments. This is a newly received report, and it will be handled immediately," he said.
