inp.polri.go.id -  At least 100 people were detained at the Ponorogo Police Headquarters, due to illegal racing. This patrol was carried out by the Ponorogo Traffic Police on Sunday. Hundreds of people were arrested along Jalan Trunojoyo, Ahmad Yani street, Kh. Ahmad Dahlan street, Juanda Street, Suromenggolo Street, and Pramuka Street. They also guided walked their motorbikes to the Ponorogo Police Headquarters. "This is part of their punishment for illegal racing so they would not do it again," said Head of the Ponorogo Police Traffic Unit, AKP Ayip Rizal. Of the 100 people arrested for illegal racing, he said, most were students with an age range of 15 to 25 years. "Some of them are still junior high and high school students, college students, and also youths who are still unemployed,” explained the former Head of the Sumenep Police Traffic Unit. He further explained that there were 100 actions taken, which 60 were ticketed and 40 were only given advice. They also confiscated the evidence that was secured at the Ponorogo Police Headquarters. “Those who want to take their motorbikes have to wait for a full month. Also, they should be accompanied by their parents along with the complete document of the motorbike," he said.
