inp.polri.go.id - South Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General Rikwanto, S.H., said that members of Bhayangkara Security Unit could reprimand their citizens for not flying the Red and White Flag in welcoming the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
“You could tell them politely if they did not fly the Indonesian flag in front of their house,” said South Kalimantan Police Chief, Friday (8/12).
According to him, the unit could ask them politely why they did not install the flag. Because we don’t know if it’s because there’s no money or any other reason. He stated that the unit are welcome to help the community who cannot fly the Indonesian flag in their house.
Through the Letter of the Minister of State Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia Number. B-620/M/S/TU.00.04/07/2022 the government requested all Indonesians to fly the flag simultaneously from August 1 to 31, 2022 to celebrate the 77th Indonesian Independence Day.
He emphasized that the spirit of nationalism must be raised to strengthen the sense of nationalism and love for the Republic of Indonesia and support the development of the state after being struck by the global pandemic.
Besides that, it is also hoped security could be well maintained so that nothing will disturb the splendor of this year's Independence Day.
"I ask my members to intensify their patrols, while also implementing their humane approach to the community while doing their patrol," said the Two-Star General.
