inp.polri.go.id - Ponorogo. The Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the 100th Anniversary Celebration for the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School (PMDG) in Ponorogo Regency, East Java, on Saturday (9/19/2026).

President Prabowo's attendance was part of the culminating series of events commemorating the centenary of the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School, which took place from September 18-20, 2026. 

Previously, the President also inaugurated the Faculty of Medicine at Darussalam University (UNIDA) Gontor as part of his working visit to Ponorogo.

President Prabowo was accompanied by several state and regional officials, including the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the East Java Regional Police Chief, the East Java Governor, the Commander of the V/Brawijaya Military Command and his staff, and the Ponorogo Sub-regional Police Chief and his staff.

The 100th Anniversary Celebration for Gontor served as a moment to commemorate the educational institution's long journey and mark its second century of service in education and community service. The event was held at the Meeting Hall of the Modern Islamic Boarding School (BPPM), Darussalam Gontor Putra Modern Islamic Boarding School, Central Campus, Ponorogo.

The President was welcomed by the Gontor family and students. The event began with the singing of the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" and the hymn "Oh Pondokku."

In addition to attending the reception, President Prabowo also signed the inauguration plaque for the renovation of the BPPM Hall and the Faculty of Medicine at UNIDA Gontor. Both facilities are part of Gontor's development as it enters its second century.
