Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has granted official rehabilitation to two civil servant teachers from Luwu Utara, South Sulawesi, who were dismissed and sentenced to one year in prison after collecting funds to pay ten honorary teachers’ delayed salaries.
“Teachers are heroes without medals. We must respect and protect them. If problems arise, we must find the best solutions,” said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi after the signing at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base early Thursday (13/11/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
The President signed the rehabilitation decree for Abdul Muis and Rasnal shortly after returning from an official visit to Sydney. The move followed public outcry and advocacy from legislators who brought the teachers’ case to the national level.
The case, involving a Rp 20,000 parent donation in 2018, drew public sympathy as both educators were seen as acting out of solidarity, not corruption. Their reinstatement restores their reputation and rights as state teachers.
