Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shared a car ride from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base to Erdogan’s hotel in Jakarta, underscoring their close relationship.

Presidential Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Yusuf Permana said President Prabowo personally welcoming President Erdogan and First Lady Emine Erdogan at the airbase Tuesday night (11/2/2025) was a gesture of high respect.

“President Prabowo shares a strong bond with President Erdogan. His presence at the airport reflects his deep respect for him,” Yusuf said in a statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.

A live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel showed their convoy, heavily escorted by 17 military police motorcades, heading toward Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Kuningan.

President Erdogan’s visit marks a state trip aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and Turkey. The two leaders are set to hold a bilateral meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Wednesday.
