Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto will announce ten new national heroes on Monday, including Indonesia’s second president, Soeharto, according to State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.

“Yes, about ten names. Yes, Soeharto is included,” he told reporters in Jakarta on Sunday night (9/11/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com. 

State Secretary Prasetyo said the list was finalized during a limited meeting attended by Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, who chairs the Council of Titles and Honors, at the President’s residence in Kertanegara.

The final decision, he added, followed consultations with DPR and MPR leaders as well as prominent national figures. 

“The President seeks broad input to ensure the decision reflects consensus and respect for those who have made extraordinary contributions to the nation,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Minister of Social Affairs  Syaifullah Yusuf previously mentioned that Soeharto, Abdurrahman “Gus Dur” Wahid , labor activist Marsinah, and cleric Syaikhona Kholil were among those considered eligible for the title
