Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Press Council has called for a thorough investigation into the terror attack targeting Tempo journalist Francisca Christy Rosana, who received a pig’s head at the office on Thursday.

“If left unchecked, such threats and terror will continue,” said Press Council Chair Ninik Rahayu in a press conference on Friday (21/3/2025)

She emphasized that press freedom is a fundamental right, protected under Law No. 40/1999 on the Press.

Tempo and the Journalist Safety Committee have already filed a police report.

Ninik also reminded all parties to use legal mechanisms, such as the right of reply or correction, instead of threats.
