inp.polri.go.id – Balikpapan. PR Agency of East Kalimantan Regional Police held a Protest Speech Competition of 2021 Chief of National Police Cup at the courtyard of East Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarter on Saturday (4/12/2021).
Chief of PR Agency of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, opened the competition, which was held to commemorate World Human Rights Day on December 10, 2021.
Besides, this competition aims to provide space to the public in addressing their aspiration and expression and educate them on how to aspirate according to regulations and laws.
This competition also shows the commitment of the Police to value aspirations from the public because freedom of speech is guaranteed by Article 28 of the 1945 Constitution and Law No. 9 of 1998 on Freedom of Addressing Opinions in Public Space.
"Police always respects human rights in guarding democracy and protecting citizens who address public opinions", Chief of PR Agency of East Kalimantan Regional Police said.
In this competition, the contestants are free to address orations of constructive criticisms and inputs as citizens' aspirations but in a polite and orderly way.
This competition was attended by five teams from many walks of life in East Kalimantan, giving speeches in front of the jury teams.
The first place elected at the Regional Police level would get the video sent to Jakarta for national selection.
