inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Public Works is accelerating the construction of Phase II of permanent People’s Schools (SR) in Aceh Province. This effort is part of the recovery process following the flash floods that struck Aceh in late November 2025.
The construction of SR is also expected to become a hub for social recovery for disaster-affected communities. Furthermore, this program aims to strengthen economic recovery, especially for children from vulnerable families.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that the construction of SR is part of the government's commitment to improving the quality of human resources.
According to him, providing adequate educational infrastructure is a crucial foundation for producing a superior and competitive generation.
"The Ministry of Public Works ensures that the educational facilities are built quickly, appropriately, and with high quality. So that the community can immediately utilize them," he said, as reported by RRI, Saturday (1/31/2026).
The construction of Phase II of the Public Schools (SR) in Aceh is being implemented through the Aceh Province SR 1 and Aceh Province SR 2 work packages. The total contract value for this program is approximately IDR 1.53 trillion, funded by the 2025–2026 State Budget.
The Aceh Province SR Package 1 is being implemented by a consortium of PT Pembangunan Perumahan Tbk and PT Wijaya Karya Tbk. This project covers Aceh Besar Regency, Bireuen Regency, and Lhokseumawe City, with physical progress reaching 2.81 percent as of January 30, 2026.
Nationally, Phase II of Public Schools will be built in 104 locations across 32 provinces and 102 regencies/cities. This program is targeted to accommodate approximately 112,320 students and will be operational by the 2026/2027 academic year.
