Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. The Ministry of Public Works has handed over Rp 2.29 trillion ($139 million) worth of building assets to the Ministry of Defense over the past decade to support military personnel’s welfare and operational needs.
“We have built and officially transferred assets worth Rp 2.29 trillion to the Ministry of Defense,” said Public Works Ministry’s Secretary-General Wida Nurfaida during a ceremony for new housing units at the Army Military Police Battalion headquarters in Jonggol, Bogor, on Tuesday (28/10/2025).
The latest transfer includes seven apartment blocks for Army personnel worth Rp 592 billion.
“Decent and comfortable housing is essential to strengthen professionalism and morale among defense personnel,” Wida added, as quoted by antaranews.com
Army Chief of Staff General. Maruli Simanjuntak praised the initiative, saying the ministry’s contribution has significantly improved soldiers’ living standards. The Army has built 1,500 homes and renovated more than 2,000, along with public service programs like river cleanups and water point construction in rural areas.
