Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Metropolitan SUb-regional Police are investigating allegations that an Indonesian influencer, identified as RW from Cianjur, embezzled Rp 1 billion (around USD 60,000).
The case stems from a report filed by lawyer Noverizky Tri Putra, who claimed RW borrowed the money under the pretext of helping a Malaysian associate, M. Shaheen Shah, with a legal issue in Bali.
“It’s under investigation. We are gathering statements from witnesses,” said Assistant Senior Inspector Igo Fazar Akbar, the Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at South Jakarta Police, on Tuesday (28/10/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
According to investigators, RW also borrowed an additional Rp 1.5 billion from another person and introduced herself as Shaheen’s representative in Indonesia. However, RW allegedly failed to return the funds as agreed.
Police have summoned the complainant, the suspect, and expert witnesses. RW has yet to respond to multiple police summonses, while Shaheen, also known as Dato Sri, is listed on Interpol’s Red Notice.
