inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. The rampant actions of Illegal online loans (pinjol) in the public, East Kalimantan Regional Police formed Pinjol Task Force, focused on public reports who become the victims of pinjol who keep threatening their customers.

Chief of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Herry Rudolf Nahak, through his Chief of PR Agency, Police Grand Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, said that Pinjol Task Force is formed as a quick response effort to the public anxiety.

"This task force is a form of our care to people of East Kalimantan because of the intimidation to the people in debt. In order to pay the debt, they are inserting negative things in it", Chief of PR Agency said.

To ease the public report, Police provided email especially to accommodate reports and Police would act on it.

"So the East Kalimantan Regional Police has opened the report portal towards the Pinjol: satgaspinjolkaltim@gmail.com. So, the people who are intimidated by the Pinjol could report there", Chief of PR Agency said.

Chief of PR Agency added that if the people would use Pinjol, they should check the platform's legality at ojk.co.id, in which there would be all Pinjol platforms list verified by the Financial Service Authority (OJK) being shown.

"There are some things that people should know whether the Pinjol is legal or not. The legality could be checked in ojk.co.id", Chief of PR Agency said.

For further report technicality, people could send screenshots of the Pinjol platform participation, and proof and transfer and threat.

"Then screenshot the Pinjol platform participation and proof of transfer and threat/intimidation with the inappropriate photos, and try to know the pinjol office and report to the nearby Police stations for further action", Chief of PR Agency said.

Until now, only one reporter who is the victim of Pinjol has been followed up by East Kalimantan Regional Police personnel.

"So far, we only got one report and we have followed it up. However, the Pinjol office is not in East Kalimantan, but we have coordinated with the Indonesian National Police Headquarters and local Regional Police for further development", Chief of PR Agency said.

Chief of PR Agency also advised people who utilised investment or have debt in Pinjol to be aware.

"I advise people who want to loan or invest to be more aware. Quick process and low interest usually an illegal platform", Chief of PR Agency concluded.
