Inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Pol. General Inspector Merdisyam, participated in the virtual launch of the 100 thousand houses program for National Police personnel and civil servants (ASN), Friday (06/04/2021). The Regional Police Chief explained that specifically in South Sulawesi Province, there were 1,820 housing units built for National Police personnel and Civil Servants. The construction also involves 13 developers in South Sulawesi. "For South Sulawesi this year there are about 1,820 housing units for police officers that are ready to be occupied. These are spread over 13 regions. That's why we collaborated with 13 developers to build houses for police officers," explained the South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief. The Regional Police Chief also explained that currently, of the 17,809 members of the National Police within the South Sulawesi Regional Police, there are 4,122 of them who do not yet own a house. "So approximately a quarter have no house. This is what we encourage them to immediately have their own house," he explained. The Regional Police Chief when inspecting one of the houses built by Bumi Salam Sejahterah, assessed that it was suitable for habitation. There is even a building warranty from the developer for 15 years. The Regional Police Chief hopes that newly graduated National members will immediately think of owning a house. "This is indeed encouraged for police officers who have just graduated to get housing from the start. Thus, their installments are not too heavy. Because with 0 years of service, the need is still not too much," he explained. The owner of Bumi Salam Sejahterah (BSS), Abd Salam, one of the developers, admitted to supporting the housing procurement program for National Police's Civil Servants. It alone gets a share of 400 housing units. "The construction of the house has been around 80 percent. We build it first, then offer it to the National Police. So when they want to own a house, then at that time could come in. This is a form of our concern," he said.
