inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued Circular Letter Number 2 of 2025 concerning Guidelines for Organizing Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Worship, one of the points of which is an appeal for mosques/prayer rooms along the homecoming route to be open 24 hours.
"We want to ensure that mosques become home bases for travelers who need a place to rest during the trip," said Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Abu Rokhmad, Friday (3/21/2025).
Abu explained that this policy aims to provide optimal service for travelers. In addition to non-stop operations, mosque managers are also advised to provide supporting facilities such as clean toilets, rest areas, and drinking water or snacks.
In addition, the Ministry of Religion also appealed for the installation of clear mosque location markers so that travelers can easily access them. Abu emphasized that the role of mosques during homecoming must be more than just a place of worship, but also as a service space for the community.
"This circular reminds us of the mosque's mission as a center for community service, especially for those who are on a long journey," said Abu.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs also asked mosque managers and travelers to jointly maintain the cleanliness, comfort, and security of the mosque and prayer room environment.
This circular will be distributed to all regions in the next two weeks, in line with the preparation of the homecoming flow scenario by the Ministry of Transportation.
