Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police announced it will reward ride-hailing drivers with Rp500,000 ($31) for reporting or recording criminal acts on the streets.
The initiative, launched Friday (26/9/2025), aims to strengthen public participation in crime prevention.
“As encouragement from the Metro Jaya Police Chief, ride-hailing drivers who spend almost 24 hours on the road may witness crimes. If they report them, they will receive a bonus,” said Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono after inaugurating a new Ojol Kamtibmas post for raid-hailing driver monitoring public order in Central Jakarta.
He said the reward is not a sign of weakness but a strategy to involve communities in maintaining security, as reported by antaranews.com.
Chief Dekananto underlined that officers at all levels will be open to ride-hailing reports and personally guaranteed complaints will not be ignored. He said the program reflects a shared responsibility in keeping Jakarta safe.
