Rescue Team from Central Sulawesi Focused in Searching the Missing Victims of Flash Floods

inp.polri.go.id – Parigi Moutong. Flash floods in Torue District, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi, caused 3 deaths and 4 suspected missing due to being swept away by flash floods. The Central Sulawesi Regional Police has dispatched a marine SAR team from the Directorate of Water and Air Police which started their operation since yesterday and focusing on searching for victims on the coast and sea in the Torue District, Parigi Moutong. Using rubber boats, the SAR team continued to scour along the coast and occasionally into the middle of the ocean to find missing victims who were thought to have been swept away by the swift waters of the flash flood that occurred, Thursday (28/7/22) night. "There are 10 personnel from the Water and Air Police of Central Sulawesi who were deployed to handle the flood disaster in Torue," said Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations, Police Commissioner Sugeng Lestari, via whatsapp message, Saturday (30/7/22). "The SAR team of the Central Sulawesi Police, using a unit of Rubber Boat, will focus on searching for victims in the coastal or marine areas around Torue District," he concluded.
