Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government remained optimistic that its hard-won zero-percent export tariffs to the United States will stay intact, even after the US Supreme Court struck down President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy.
Minister of Trade Budi Santoso confirmed on Thursday (26/2/2026) that a consultation period is currently underway to navigate the legal fallout of the ruling.
“We hope that what we have already signed, the zero-percent entry into America, will continue to operate,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Just last week, Indonesia and the US signed a Reciprocal Trade Agreement (ART) covering 1,819 product categories, including palm oil, coffee, semiconductors, and aircraft components.
However, the U.S> Supreme Court ruled that President Trump overstepped his authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). This has triggered a temporary 10% global US tariff, with plans to hike it to 15%, leaving bilateral deals in a state of legal uncertainty.
