Riau Island Regional Police Successfully Arrest Perpetrator who Insulting President Jokowi on Twitter

inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Island Regional Police arrest Mustafa Kamal for insulting Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) via social media Twitter. The perpetrators were secured at Bintan 21 Tanjungpinang Supermarket. "The arrest of the perpetrator is based on a police report number: LP-A / 42 / V / 2021 / SPKT-KEPRI, 12 May 2021," said Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Harry Goldenhardt, in Batam, Saturday (15 May 2021). Hary explained the chronology the perpetrator made a post and uploaded it to Twitter on behalf of the account @ MustafaKamalN13, 8 May 2021, at 15.43 Western Indoensian Time. The perpetrator is known to have only created the Twitter account in March 2021. "In his upload, the perpetrator insulted Pak Jokowi with inappropriate sentences," said the Head of Public Relations. Based on the police report, the Technical Team for the Cybercrime Unit of Special Crime Agency of Riau Island Regional Police immediately conducted an investigation. As a result, on 12 May 2021, at around 13:00 Western Indoensian Time the perpetrator was successfully secured at Bintan 21 Tanjungpinang Supermarket and then brought to the Riau Islands Police Headquarters Batam for further investigation. The police also secured evidence in the form of a mobile phone, SIM card, Twitter account in the name of the perpetrator's Tiger Andalas and the perpetrator's identity card. For his actions, the perpetrator can be applied to Article 45A paragraph 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions also Article 28 paragraph 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions and or Article 14 paragraph 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
