Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Police seized 233.85 grams of methamphetamine and arrested two suspects during an operation on 25 May 2026 following community reports of drug activity in Tiban BTN housing complex, Sekupang.
“The suspects are part of a larger network and continue investigations to identify additional actors,” said Senior Superintendent Nona Pricillia Ohei, the Riau Islands Police Head of Public Relations.
The first suspect, ID (42), was caught with 59.41 grams of meth. He admitted sourcing the drugs from SA (33), who was later arrested with 174.44 grams of meth, a digital scale, cash, and a motorcycle. SA confessed to receiving 290 grams of meth from another supplier, R, and was promised Rp6 million for distribution.
Both suspects face charges under Indonesia’s Narcotics Law, carrying severe penalties. Chief Nona urged local residents to report suspicious activity via the 24-hour Call Center 110 or Polri Super Apps, stressing that public cooperation is vital in combating drug abuse.
