Inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police and its ranks uncovered 435 narcotics cases with an estimated economic value of Rp 34.85 billion during "Operation Antik Lancang Kuning 2026" from 16 April 2026 to 7 May 2026, targeting drug abuse and trafficking across the province.
"During Operation Antik Lancang Kuning 2026, we uncovered 435 police reports with a total of 557 suspects secured," said Riau Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi on Tuesday (12/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
Authorities seized 34.38 kilograms of drugs, including 31.85 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, and marijuana. Officers also confiscated a speedboat, vehicles, and cash. A major highlight was the seizure of 27 kilograms of methamphetamine in the Meranti Islands, where police intercepted a smuggling attempt via water routes. Of the 557 suspects, 487 are currently in custody, while 70 others have been referred to rehabilitation programs. Police estimate the operation saved over 162,000 lives from potential drug abuse.
